A BIG Thank-You to Julie over at A Year with Mom and Dad for letting me post her Tot Explorations post this week!
You’re in for a treat!

Okay, taking yet another page from my friend T Rex Mom’s book, I had to share how much FUN my son had this week with his “Snow Tray.”
It’s simple …I took a cookie sheet with edges, poured a few cups of white flour into it and added a couple small cars.

My son stood on his Learning Tower and drove his cars around in the snow! One of his cars even had a plow on it, so that added to the theme of snow driving! All I had to do to “reset” the snow was give the tray a little jiggle and he had a layer of fresh “snow” to drive through!
How fun was it? He played quietly with this tray for thirty or more minutes, without getting distracted! (Super awesome for me because I got to clean up the entire kitchen while he played right nearby!).
I will warn you, this made QUITE the mess, but only took about five minutes to wipe and vacuum up! Will I do this type of messy play again? Maybe once in a great while, but for regular car play, I’ll switch to large beans instead since they make less mess!
Do you have any other “tray play” ideas?
