My Heart Belongs at the Farmer’s Market {Kootenai County Farmer’s Market}

I am not a farmer, by any means, nor do I have the desire to be, but there’s something about being at the farmer’s market that makes me feel at home..

Could be it listening to live, local music?

Or munching on some delicious food?

Or could it be that here, we can stop to smell each and every flower?

Our local farmer’s market (the Kootenai County Farmer’s Market) also has a wonderful Kids Zone, where they teach the little ones with fun, natural activities; something different each week!

Is this why my boys love the farmer’s market?

Because they have the opportunity to dig in the fresh dirt and plant their own seeds?

I think that we love the farmer’s market so much because here, we feel connected to the others in our community. We get to buy fresh, organic, picked-that-morning produce. We get to stop and say hi to every vendor. We get to slow down a little and just enjoy being outdoors, with people we don’t even know, and enjoy life.

For me, the farmer’s market is an important addition to our weekly life and I look forward to each Spring when it opens! If you have not yet taken your family to your local farmer’s market, I definitely think you should fit it into your busy schedule. You won’t regret it!
