Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

When the weather starts to cool and the leaves begin to change, all I want to do is cozy up in a blanket and sip a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte! As you know, if you purchase coffee drinks out, which I do sometimes, you are spending around $4 a pop (or more); yikes! When making this rich, delicious drink at home, you are spending only a fraction of that price. Plus, isn’t homemade always better?!

This is an incredibly easy recipe and is not filled with all the sugars and calories, like the ones from the coffee shop.. All you need are a few simple (and inexpensive) ingredients to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte every morning!

What you need:

Coffee (of course): You can either use an espresso machine or drip coffee, like I use.. Either will work!

Lowfat vanilla Natural Bliss creamer: You can, of course, use any vanilla creamer but Natural Bliss is my favorite because it only contains natural ingredients! Plus, the lowfat helps minimize your calorie intake as well..

Pumpkin puree or pie mix: Normally, I use straight pumpkin puree with more spices but this time, I had pie mix. It tasted super yummy and didn’t need any extra flavoring, aside from the garnish.

Ground nutmeg: When using puree, I add this to the drink itself, but when using the already-spiced pie mix, I only use the nutmeg to garnish.

Whipped cream: This is optional but I love the added texture and flavor of the drink topped with a bit of whipped cream! YUM!

The instructions are easy. This is how I make it, but you can adjust measurements to your liking:

Step 1: Add 1-2 tbsp pumpkin to mug.

Step 2: Pour a swing or creamer in (probably about 2 tbsp).

Step 3: Heat in microwave for 30 seconds.

Step 4: Stir. Once heated, the creamer and pumpkin will combine easily.

Step 5: Add coffee.

Step 6: Top with whipped cream and garnish with a bit of nutmeg.

(If using puree, add 1 tsp nutmeg to step 1 for added flavor)

That’s it! Heat, mix and enjoy!
